White Metal, England, Temperance Society, Medal, 1833. This Temperance or Teetotal Society existed from 1833 -1870. Like other such movements in both England and the US, it blamed many of Societys ills on Demon Drink. Unlike in the US, it never resulted in nationwide Prohibition and faded in importance after WWII as social conditions improved.
