Genuine Mercedes Benz Rudolf Caracciola Hommage by Comor Suisse Automatic Chronograph Ultra rare model, yet along in this condition. Made by Comor Suisse especially for the Mercedes Benz Museum, at the special request of ADAC Germany, as a hommage timepiece for Rudolf Caracciola. Swiss made automatic Valjoux 7750, with a modified dial. Low dome mineral cristal for a true racing look. Swiss made. Genuine reptile leather, the original one, still has a lot of life left in it. Limited edition to 500 pieces ever made. Extremely rare black version dial it was also made in white, not so beautiful as the black.

Otto Wilhelm Rudolf Caracciola 1901 1959 was a racing driver from Remagen, Germany. He won the European Drivers Championship, the pre-1950 equivalent of the modern Formula One World Championship, an unsurpassed three times. He also won the European Hillclimbing Championship three times twice in sports cars, and once in Grand Prix cars. Caracciola raced for Mercedes-Benz during their original dominating Silver Arrows period, named after the silver colour of the cars, and set speed records for the firm. He was affectionately dubbed Caratsch by the German public, and was known by the title of Regenmeister, or "Rainmaster", for his prowess in wet conditions.

He is remembered as one of the greatest pre-1939 Grand Prix drivers, a perfectionist who excelled in all conditions. His record of six German Grand Prix wins remains unbeaten. His relationship with Mercedes racing manager Alfred Neubauer, one of mutual respect, is often cited as a contributing factor to his success. After Caracciolas death, Neubauer described him as: ,,the greatest driver of the twenties and thirties, perhaps even of all time. He combined, to an extraordinary extent, determination with concentration, physical strength with intelligence. Caracciola was second to none in his ability to triumph over shortcomings."
