Byzantine Gold Solidus, Honorius, 393-423 CE.

Visigothic Alaric I conquered Athens in 395 CE and sacked Rome in 410 CE, when Honorius was in Ravenna. He banned gladiatorial games in 399 and 404 CE, possibly in response to the martyrdom of the monk Telemachus for protesting them.
