President John F. Kennedy set a goal of landing a manned spacecraft on the moons surface. On the 20th July 1969, science fiction became reality as the crew of the Apollo 11 mission set foot on the moon, with the words Thats one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind broadcast to the waiting millions on Earth.
