V3 added a black face..

The pilot, Sir Alan Cobham, used an Ingersoll watch in 1928 during his flight over the continent of Africa to ensure that he knew the exact time. "Due to the fact that I cannot rely on any watch on board, I used my Ingersoll to register the time. It had always been a reliable timekeeper for me under very different climatic conditions and on distances of more than 23,000 miles." This flight, and the man himself, are now celebrated in a modern watch,

The Sir Alan Cobham limited edition IN1001CR use a calibre 200 automatic movement with 17 Jewels and a small seconds dial. All Ingersoll watches are designed in Germany
