Silver, Domitian, Denarius, 81 CE-Domitian was the brother of Titus, his predecessor. He was famous for his building works including the Arch of Titus recording the capture of Jerusalem and completion
of the Colosseum, a 13 year project built largely by the labor of tens of thousands of
enslaved Israelite prisoners.
His brutality at the end made
him many enemies. See Text for his death. Reverse shows a Roman altar.
